Wow! You actually made it to the Official site of Callen Damornen! I am honoured with your presence.
My alter-ego/pen name is Callen Damornen [pronounced call-in-da-mornin'], the wild, outspoken writer in me who needed a place to go for free expression without constraints or a straight-jacket. Whether you are in the mood for my original writing and opinions or that of the more famous British classic authors, this is the place for you. No pressure, the reading rooms are free to use. You don't even have to sign up for anything if you wish.
Yes, I am a "Yank". Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. So if my English comes off as funny, I guess I will hide behind that excuse. So what is an American doing with an English web site? My alter-ego is British at heart:-) It really is a lovely country. My husband plays cricket with the Nashville Occasionals and they will yet again do the tour across the island.
I hope you will enjoy the free Book Samples of my work and share them with your friends. Maybe one day soon you will buy my books:-) I am still working on many fictional books, but in due time I assure you they will be out.
And as always, if you have something on your mind. If you need to talk, need advice, want to make a comment, complaint or suggestion, I am ready to hear from you, just contact me at anytime.
BTW - You may find some of my writing shocking and/or offensive. Don't take everything too seriously! I have a weird sense of humor and if you take something the wrong way, check to make sure it isn't being said tongue-in-cheek before you go off half cocked.
I have been playing with an experimental format - an interactive soap opera called Kensington Falls. It follows the lives of several families in a small Midwestern US town that is under a powerful curse. If you like soap operas, especially NBC's Passions, I hope you will love this story I am doing. Please give it a visit and feel free to leave your comments.
I am also currently in the process of updating the recipes and correcting some of the html errors that came about as a result of changing the format.
Coming to the Pangbourne area this summer? While you are there, if you want a nice quiet place to get away from it all, try a horse riding theme at Cullinghood Equestrian Centre and visit the bed and breakfast, Herons Farms, in Pangbourne [West Berkshire]. Maggie, has lovely rooms, great rates. If you love horses or have always wanted to learn to ride, she can accommodate you.
Come and visit the Pangbourne village fete - Saturday 7th June 2008.
